The Roman Road

From the Holy Bible book of Romans

Consider the following Bible truths: It takes being righteous for a person to go to heaven. In fact, the promises of God in the bible are only for the RIGHTEOUS. Heaven is only for the Righteous. Being righteous is being without sin, and not in disobedience to God. Have you lived your whole life without sin and disobedience? So ask yourself are you righteous? You should have answered “NO” to that question. The Bible says
.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none Righteous, no not one”

You may ask, “if there are none righteous then where does that leave me? Surely we are not all Sinners are we?” Well, the Bible would point you to the answer to that question and it is YES! Your Apostle, Deacon, Priest, Bishop, Pastor, Prophet, mother, Father and everyone else has sinned.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Romans 5:12 “Wherefore by one man ( Adam ) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

So, if we are “ALL” sinners, then how do we become righteous?

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 5:8 “But God Commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

The way we become RIGHTEOUS and able to enter into eternal life is through Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Many people make this decision much harder than it needs to be. God’s Word teaches us that if you simply and sincerely believe in your innermost being that Jesus took your place and died on the cross for the payment of your sins, and that God raised him from the dead on the third day (found in Matthew 28: 1 to 20) you will be saved by your confession of being a sinner and asking the Lord Jesus to forgive you of your sins.

Because we are not righteous on our own, the only way to heaven is to ask God to forgive you of your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. The way to do that is by believing in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you call upon Him for salvation God promises to hear you and you will be saved!! If you believe that you need Christ in your life I encourage you to go to God in prayer and sincerely pray a prayer like the one below and mean it in your heart:

PRAYER of Salvation and Repentance

Heavenly Father I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart that Jesus is your perfect Son who had no sin, And that he died on the Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and Savior. I repent of my Sins and will seek to Worship you all the day's of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I claim its promise of eternal life and confess with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus’ Name, Amen

If you have prayed this prayer and truly meant it in your heart , God’s Word assures you that you now have eternal life. See John 6:37 and John 10:27-29.

Please contact us about your decision and if you have any questions so we can send you some valuable information that will assist you in your new life in Christ.

I Love You

From the book 4R's by Apostle Judson Powell: Revival, Repentance, Relationship, Restoration.

4R's Book

The main question I placed before God was; why were people hearing the gospel and attending church and not being totally delivered, healed, and set free? Why are we as Christians losing the battle between the spirit and the flesh? I prayed and meditated on these questions every day. I ran an out reach ministry for the homeless and indigent. All of the sudden I was homeless and indigent myself. I was living in my van. The difference was that I knew that I wouldn’t stay homeless and indigent. I knew that somehow God was working a plan in my life. I just kept doing the work of the Lord. I would see people and minister to people that professed they knew the Lord. They could quote more bible scripture than I could, but the enemy still had them bound and enslaved to the flesh and in sin. Many of them came to church and attended service, but as soon as they left the service, they were back to being carnal minded, in addiction, abuse and other worse sin. I just kept asking God why? Why were these people not being totally healed, delivered and set free?

As I was riding in my van one day the spirit of God spoke to me. These four R’s were revealed to me as the answer to my prayer. I pulled the van over, wrote them down on a piece of paper, and put them in my pocket. Once they were in my pocket, I actually forgot about them.  That was on a Wednesday night. The next night, I went to a healing and deliverance meeting at a ministry that I usually went to on Thursday night. I attended those meetings because I coveted the gift to have God use me as a healer for the Kingdom. When I got there, a retired pastor friend of mine comes up to me, pulls me aside, and says he has something that God told him to tell me. To my surprise and to my joy, he told me the same four R’s that God had given to me while I was riding down the street. I then pulled the piece of paper out of my pocket and showed the paper to my friend. We just laughed and praised God because of his goodness and how he had confirmed his revelation. Revival, Repentance, Relationship, and Restoration was born as the vision God gave me for my ministry

New Football Season

Football is back and it is bigger and better than ever. Much to the she-grin of wives and pastors. Many wives are now football widows and will not have much time with their husbands as they will be watching every game. My oldest son and I were talking about the schedule of football games and you can watch football every single night of the week. With the right cable or satellite programming combined with internet you can see every NFL, college and now even high school games. That presents a problem for many families especially where there is no synergy around football. This also presents a problem for pastors as well.

The men are gone from the home and the church. The most popular sport in the United States is played on Sunday and most games have a 1pm start time, making is very difficult for people that attend the games to attend church services. Some pastors have even gone to placing televisions in the fellowship hall and having men's ministry and fellowship after services so that they can attract more men during football season. Wives equally have a hard time getting attention from their husbands and the need for pastoral counseling increases during football season. These football wives are upset because their husbands do not spend enough time with them. It is not grounds for divorce but it is grounds for concern.

I have some suggestions. First, place God first. Attend church and record the first part of the early game. Do not make football a god before GOD. Second, if your wife is not a football fan, make some special time for her where you do exclusively what she wants to do. Make a big deal out of it, just like you do with the game. Next, try to pick a limited amount of games to watch and limit that to your dosage per week. Too much of anything is bad for you. Next, if there is a big game like playoffs etc... tell your wife in advance so that she is aware of what is going on and she can make other plans. Please note: all games are not big games. Finally, be considerate even when the games are on. There are other things going on in your household especially if you have children. Those suggestions should make life a lot easier during football season and may keep you out of the pastors office.

I know that football is a huge part of our culture, but it is not bigger than God or family. If you have gotten to that point, then you are way out of line and you need to reel yourself back in. I am a fan of the game, and in my younger years I played the game. I understand the excitement and anticipation associated with big games and big rivalries. I am from Detroit, Michigan and have been a Detroit Lions fan and University of Michigan fan all my life. I am not insensitive to football fans. However, we should always have balance and priorities in life. When anything takes God and family out of balance and creates other priorities, then it is going to cause us problems, whatever it may be. So remember football is just a game, but God and family is real life. Go Lions!

Sermon Notes: September 9, 2012. " The Process of Repentance"

Matthew 21:28-32 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

1. All people will not receive the gospel.

2. Friends and family will not receive the gospel.

3. Continue to preach the gospel in spite of what others say.

4. You may be surprised who will repent and receive the gospel.

5. Repentance is a process for many do not judge.

6. It is up to the Holy Ghost to convict hearts into repentance.

7. Stay steadfast in LOVE.

I pray this blesses you. Amen.

Presidential Election 2012, WWJD ?

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turns it wheresoever he will. Proverbs 21:1. As election day approaches the race for President is very interesting. As a Christian, I do not know if you can be completely happy with either side. What would Jesus do? The Republicans seem hell bent on trying to prove they were poor once upon a time and have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps. The Democrats on the other hand have dived into uncharted water with forcing employers to provide birth-control. Either way there are many issues that are anti-Christian. It seems like we as Christians are left with picking the lesser of two evils when and if we decide to vote.

The cutting of social programs which the Republicans seem to want to always do is really against the bible and the church. Acts 2:44,45 “And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.” Sounds like the early church was really a socialist endeavor. Everybody put in and everybody got out what they needed. Any time a doctrine like health care, welfare, or any other social program is brought up conservative Christian Republicans are against it. I still always try to figure out their thought process in believing that their trickle down economic policy is really Christ-like. The oppression of the poor is not Christ-like.

The democrats are very liberal when it comes to human rights issues like same-sex marriage, abortion and birth control. They are mostly pro-choice, pro woman's right to decide. Their views may be humanly justifiable in some way, but are not biblical. All the Democrats views on human rights issues are somehow anchored in sin or disobedience to the word of God. They are mired in sin but espouse the doctrine of free will. Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” God does give us free will but does that mean that we fall deeper into disobedience? We have grace but does that mean we can sin more?

According to the principles of the bible, both sides have problems with their walk with the Lord. I understand that this is not religion or spiritually, it is politics. Politics in a democracy means that it is really a popularity contest and the side that is most popular will win. That actually bodes better for the Democrats because if you want to make friends it is better to give than to take away. While in Law School I learned that it is better to er on the side of giving people rights than to take peoples rights away. So as Christians we really have to turn this into a spiritual decision and pray about who we should vote for. The Lord holds the heart of the King in his hands. If Jesus holds your heart then He can tell you in prayer which side to vote for.

Finally, realize that you as a Christian are a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven and this place is not your home. Our sojourn here is only temporary and Jesus is our King. We are in this world but not of this world. Isaiah 9:6,7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Pray for the United States of America.
